Sewage backing up right now? Do this first

  • Stop using water in the house. Do not keep flushing.
  • Do not run the washer, dishwasher, or extra showers.
  • Stay out of a wet field. That is private sewage, not a puddle to walk through.
  • Then call {{CALLRAIL_NUMBER}}. We dispatch licensed local septic technicians in Camrose, Leduc County, and Wetaskiwin.

A pump-out is not a repair or a replacement. If the tank or field has failed, pumping buys a day, not a fix. If the house is on municipal sewer, call a plumber instead.

When the tank is the failure, not the field

Septic tank repair is tank work. Lids, risers, baffles, the inlet tee, the outlet, an effluent filter that has not been touched in years. It is not field work. It is not a new system. If the yard is a bog and every fixture backs up two hours after a pump-out, the tank may be fine and the field is the failure.

A cracked baffle lets solids into the laterals. A collapsed lid is a safety problem and a source of groundwater in the tank. A tank that weeps at a seam can sometimes be repaired; a tank that has folded in on itself cannot. We say which one you have after we open it.

Typical tank repair runs in the hundreds to low thousands. That is a typical range, not a bid. Access, frost, and whether we are only resetting a lid or rebuilding an outlet change the ticket. Camrose clay heaves shallow lids. Leduc County yards can be tight to a shop. Wetaskiwin county tanks sit on the same frost-depth rule: about 2 m, or 6–8 ft.

A pump-out is not a repair or a replacement. We may empty the tank so we can see the walls. Emptying it is not the repair. If the tank is past saving, start with septic tank installation.

How a septic call actually runs

Five steps. Diagnose, open the tank, decide, install at frost depth, document. We do not treat a pump-out as the job.

Step 1

Diagnose

Backup, slow drains, a wet field, or a tank that will not hold. We look at the tank, the laterals, and the field — not just the sludge level.

Step 2

Open

We open the tank. Baffles, inlet, outlet, effluent filter, lid, and whether the field is taking water. A pump-out without this look is not a repair.

Step 3

Decide

Tank repair, system repair, a new tank, a new field, or a full replacement. We say which one you have. We do not sell a full system when a baffle is the job.

Step 4

Install

Tanks and fields here need frost depth — often about 2 m, or 6–8 ft. Clay, access, and the existing field change the excavation, not the honesty.

Step 5

Document

You get what we found and what we changed. We do not invent permit numbers. Municipal paperwork, when required, is the real permit — not a number we make up.

Repair versus replace — and a pump-out is neither

A pump-out is not a repair or a replacement. Emptying a tank does not fix a cracked baffle, a collapsed lid, or a field that has failed. If the field is saturated, the house will back up again after the truck leaves.

Typical tank repair runs in the hundreds to low thousands. A full system replacement often runs $15,000–$40,000+ depending on the field, soil, and access. Those are typical ranges, not a bid. If you are on municipal sewer in town, you need a plumber, not this company.

Baffles, lids, and when a new tank is cheaper

People mix septic tank repair with septic system repair. One is the vessel. The other is the path out to the field. If sewage is only at one fixture and the yard is dry, start here. If the lawn is wet downslope of the tank, read septic system repair as well.

We do not invent permit numbers. This is certified installer work on private sewage. Municipal sewer in town is still a plumber.

Hwy 13 and Hwy 21 Camrose tanks sit on agricultural rim clay. Hwy 2 Leduc County tanks often share a yard with a shop. Hwy 2A Wetaskiwin and Millet tanks sit on county parcels that were never on a main. Hay Lakes lids frost-heave in the open. Tell us the highway.

Call {{CALLRAIL_NUMBER}}. Name, phone, town, what is wrong. If the lid is broken, say so. If someone already pumped this week and the backup returned, say that too.

Questions homeowners ask

What fails on a septic tank besides it is full?

Lids, risers, baffles, inlet tees, outlets, and effluent filters. A tank can be empty and still fail the house if the baffle is gone and solids went to the field.

Can a cracked tank be repaired or does it need a new tank?

A local crack or a lid can often be repaired. A tank that has folded or separated at a seam is a new tank. We decide after it is open, not from the driveway.

Will tank repair fix a wet field?

Not if the field is the failure. Tank repair is the tank. A wet field is system repair, field installation, or replacement. We will not sell tank repair as a field fix.

What does typical tank repair cost?

Hundreds to low thousands, typical, not a bid. Access, frost, and whether we are resetting a lid or rebuilding an outlet change the number.
