When the field is the failure
Septic field installation is the treatment field — laterals, chambers or pipe-and-stone, the distribution box, the soil that has to take effluent. It is not the tank. You need a new field when the old one is plugged, saturated, or sitting too shallow for frost. A new field on a failed tank is a wasted field. We check the tank first.
Fields fail in this clay because solids reached the laterals, because the field was undersized, or because it was never buried for a central Alberta winter. Frost depth is often about 2 m, or 6–8 ft. A pretty lawn over a shallow field is still a shallow field.

Backup, slow drains, a wet field, or a tank that will not hold. We look at the tank, the laterals, and the field — not just the sludge level.
Open
We open the tank. Baffles, inlet, outlet, effluent filter, lid, and whether the field is taking water. A pump-out without this look is not a repair.
Decide
Tank repair, system repair, a new tank, a new field, or a full replacement. We say which one you have. We do not sell a full system when a baffle is the job.
Install
Tanks and fields here need frost depth — often about 2 m, or 6–8 ft. Clay, access, and the existing field change the excavation, not the honesty.
Document
